Overall Goals
To continue research into optimizing and scaling-up aquaculture of this promising species to create new opportunities for commercial production. Additionally, specimens obtained as a byproduct of this work will be distributed to commercial producers and loko iʻa for testing in those systems.

Objectives
1. Conduct trials in tanks designed specifically for pelagic larval rearing and to improve on initial success with āholehole at PACRC.
2. Conduct trials to determine nutritional requirements to improve survival and shorten pelagic larval duration (PLD).
3. Determine size at maturity to inform broodstock management and future possible stock enhancement activities.
4. Technology transfer, training and education efforts will be conducted to support development of commercial fish aquaculture in Hawaiʻi and the USAPI.
