Overall Goals>
To develop non-GMO technologies of targeted PGC disruption for production of reproductively infertile fish with enhanced growth performances.
Objectives
1. Design Morpholino oligos and miRNA inhibitors targeting two PGC disruptions via Dnd protein in two tilapia species.
2. Develop in vitro fertilization and maturation, and embryo immersion protocols for PGC disruptions.
3. Study embryo survival rate, PGC migration and related gene expressions during early embryo development.
