Overall Goal
The overall goal of this project is to address the shortage of skilled workers in Hawaiʻi’s aquaculture industry by training up to 36 undergraduate students over two years. The project will provide trainees with industry relevant, hands-on experience at local aquaculture operations and job placements assistance within the local aquaculture industry.

Objectives
1. Increase interest in and preparation for aquaculture careers by recruiting and selecting up to 18 students per year to participate in aquaculture training programs.
2. Provide hands-on aquaculture training by prioritizing practical experience in aquaculture, including biology and systems operations.
3. Facilitate industry placement and support aquaculture industry employers by providing easy access to a pool of well-trained graduates and offering resources to facilitate hiring.
